Pacific Division Score-Tied Fenwick: Games 1-110

Obviously this is far too small of a sample size to draw any meaningful conclusions but I plan on posting a new graph every 100 or so games that occur league-wide. For the uninitiated, Fenwick% is the percentage of shots and missed shots a team attempts at even-strength out of all the shots and missed shots that were taken at even-strength in games involving that team. Score-tied Fenwick, as the name implies, limits it to game situations in which the score is tied so as to eliminate score effects (teams collapsing into a defensive shell with the lead, etc.). Phoenix looks really good by this measure which will surely come as a surprise to anyone who saw their opener against the Sharks. The Sharks look to be in a steep decline thanks to their performance in that opener but in reality they lead the league in score-tied Fenwick% after finishing fourth last season. Perhaps the most surprising piece of data here is that the Kings have been in the red all season long. Expect them to regress as the year continues.
